DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS!!

We took some time to drive Lindsey and kids, with her car, to AZ so we could enjoy a little Arizona time before heading to Utah. Here is Savy and Boston in front of the new Gila Valley Temple.

We did take Les to see the Bats flying out under the Congress Bridge, But they were not coming out in as great a numbers for some reason as we saw the last time we were there! Still fun, however!!

FATHER'S DAY IN AUSTIN!

We celebrated father's Day with Les and Travis! Happy Father's Day! Lindsey had made an awesome book for Travis, a couple of years of blogs, published in a book. Awesome!!! Here is Les with his hook -um -horns new hat and t-shirt from Linds and Trav and family.
We did real "TEXAS BAR-B-Q" at one of Lindsey and Trav's favorite, "Rudy's"!

It is a very casual place. You eat your food right on parchment paper! Yup! It was so delish!!!

Our first little side trip while visiting Lindsey and Travis was to see the Alamo. It is one of those historical places I had heard about all my life, so I was very excited about seeing this. It was much different than I expected. It is right smack in the middle of downtown San Antonio.with buildings all around.
We did take the time to stroll down the famous "River walk". That was also fun!

This is what Davy Crockett really looks like. Where is his coonskin cap?

Don'[t you just love finding local places like this? Ken and Cydney have introduced us to a place in Kansas City that we really like. Looks like a lot of fun.
