Last summer some of our family was together and happened to get in my closet and try on one of my old Christmas sweaters. At that moment we declared: The First Annual Smith Family Ugly Christmas Sweater Party" would be held during the Thanksgiving week. Little did we know: that we would have so much fun finding those charming items.(The hunt was hilarious! Almost as much fun as actually wearing them.) Also, that we would be blessed with so many Utah family members to join in the fun. It was hilarious to say the least! Part of the plan was to go dressed in out attire to a restaurant. So, it was Gecko Grill that hosted us. People actually thought we had just had our family picture taken! After Gecko, we headed back to the Barney residence for more fun and games. Here is a picture of all the grandkids eating Krispy Kreme doughnuts from a string with no hands. The grandkids loved it!
You would think we were just stopping for a photo shot in front of Nichole's tree. But no, these beauties were hunted down, from Utah to Arizona. Nice jobs ladies! Notice our classy turtlenecks!
The Barney Family in their holiday attire! We had a little trouble finding the younger boys fun sweaters! So we became a little creative and added to their red turtlenecks. Check out all the turtlenecks, which we never wear in AZ. Denny found a bright purple one! Way to go Denny!
Megan and Kiley fully into the spirit of the evening!
Even little Colston sported a red festive sweatshirt!
Harper kept saying, "but I don't want to wear an ugly sweater! " They were so clever and creative in their creations!
Lindsey and Travis look like they just stepped out of a Gap add in the 80's! Awesome!
We are pretty sure Seth had this same exact sweater Travis is wearing.

Nine cute little Grandkids! We had so much fun!
Everyone said Les had borrowed Bill Cosby"s old sweater!
